The simple composition is based on the fantasy art styles of the late seventies and early eighties. I feel this is probably more  my natural style anyway like the last one I posted here and the 'uplift universe' one I did for the competition last year. 95% artrage and about 5% paintshop pro<br />

I painted this one in Acrylic, I think it took around four to five hours as I remember doing it in one sitting. Sometimes it just nice to keep your hand in especially when you paint digitally eighty percent of the time. The title and poem is from old-english.<br />

I painted the whole thing in paintshop pro and hatched out the skin texture to keep it from being too airbrushed. I liked the idea of keeping it all in B&amp;W and only doing the rose in colour like they do on the film/game cover.<br />
